Finally @ Home!

I'm hooome! went to biology camp at Nerringillah for the last 3 days and did my biology group assignment as well!
=D good thing there werent many leeches and ticks! The only bad thing was that it was FREEZING at night. well to me it was. even with tights and normal pants and long socks on my legs were cold during the night. I constantly woke up and moved a lot to get warm.

1st Day:
Arrived at around 9ish a.m. Moved luggage and set up our tents. Then others arrived afterwards. Ate lunch which was pho (vietnamese beef rice-noodle soup). It was plain haha xD like water + rice noodle+ meat. seriously. I shouldve added some fish sauce but ah well! most of us were lookin foward to the pho haha but it didnt turn out as expected. I think its harder due to the fact that they're cooking foreign food and that its possible that they rarely tried pho in the rural area.
We were split into parties. Some went to the rock pools, rain forest, schlerophyll forest or sand dunes. My party went to the schlerophyll forest. We did a quadrat, and took measurements/data. This included soil pH and moisture, transect diagram, humidity, light exposure, soil temp., and adaptations of plants and animal species within the ecosystem. Afterwards we trudged back to the camp area and got ready for dinner. some people worked before dinner. Dinner was some sort of meat with sauce, rice, and some salad? i think its around ther haha i dont really remember! XD

Then we went for a night walk and set up some traps. We saw a leech, and some kangaroos, wallaby, and wombat! =D they were sooo cute! >.< cept the leech. I was so close of touching it but too afraid hahaha XD the teacher was playin around with it.

After a loooong walk we headed back to tents and got ready for bed! =]

2nd Day:
woke up at around 630am. Friend complained about my grinding my teeth haha xD i know i do tat but i've never actually heard what noise i make haha xD according to her i do it VERY hard. I really forgot to mention to her i grind my teeth before we decided to nap together in the same tent!
We had some yogurt, fruit salad and....hmm wat was it >.< errrrrr BANANA BREAD! XD rofl sorry bad memory ahahha

We stayed in our parties and went to other ecosystems again. This time my party and I went to the rainforest. We accidentally stumbled onto a private property and the land lady came and strictly asked us to remove ourselves from the area. She was afraid that someone may get hurt and that they'd have to pay for the insurance. That's quite understandable haha

So again, we investigated the rainforest ecosystem and took samples! Notes were written down.

We soon headed back and ate lunch. It was a yummy lunch. i forgot what we had LOL im confused. Its either the turkish wrap with tabouli, salad, and some sauce OR tortilla and some salad and meat. =S haha mixed up sorrys!

Okay so we then went to the sand dunes and rock platforms. the rock platforms was the best. We saw an octopus, anemone, periwinkles, seagulls, sea eagle, neptune's necklace and kelps!. There were others which included morulas. After doing experiments on both ecosystems and investigations, notes were jotted down once again!.

The teacher dropped us at the entrance of a dirt road that we had to take back to the camp area, while she went back to pick up the other people at the beach. We began walking with a student biology/ecology teacher. He knows heaps about animals! We trudged up and down hill. Then we realised we were on the wrong track and had to turn around. Soon we found ourselves lost once again. It began to get dark. Luckily, some of us had our torches. We took rests and drank heaps of water. Soon we saw headlights of the school van. xD we celebrated as we board it. Turns out, no one knew we were missing, until late LOL XD SO SAD

We got back to camp and we started celebrating. As we got out haha friends came to check out what had happened. A friend came and hugged each of us and went ahhh welcome back welcome back

So we showered etc and headed to the canteen to wait for dinner. We sat there and did work as we had got our assignment that is to be due the next day. We have to do a presentation on a particular ecosystem - my group was given the sand dunes. I went to the showers and sat there waiting for a VERY long time haha. I was gettin worried because i wanna shower and quickly go do my work. I dont want my friends to think im slacking off xD After shower i went down and my friends were waiting for me. A friend mentioned that i took so long. I started crying haaha. It was kinda silly too - usually i'd take it and ignore it. But i think it was coz i had my PMS haha xD so i was moody too. Then another friend made me feel guilty for saying "shuddap" even  tho other others say it to him and he jokes with it. But he tells me its coz i mean more to him than the others. xD I was kinda surprised but haha pretty cool comment there.

 I hate myself for crying sometimes over such little thing. i wish i can show that im not satisfied or content without having to cry. Just a frown or something. But haha im still learning to be strong.

Hmm so we went to bed after having dinner which waaaaas mashed potatoes, peas, and a chicken drumstick! =[ i had a twig in my mashed potatoes..but ah well XD took it out and ate the rest LOL u'd kinda expect it haha.

3rd/Last Day: 
Woke up later than intended at 630a.m. Packed suitcases and sleeping bag. Friend complained about my grinding again haha i joked around saying im a pro at night because i dont know how to do it in day time LOL. So, after packing and changing, went to eat breaky. breaky was nice! pancakes with yogurt and fruit salad again.there was syrup/honey too!


We were also preparing for our presentation and presentations started at 830a.m.From here, no one is allowed to work on their assignment. Instead we were taken to the field to play some sports - football, cricket or simply sit and chat. A friend of mine managed to earn himself a tick LOL and i mean a TICK insect. Red, little buggers digging its claws into his skin and burying his head. he put tea tree oil TT then forgot it was there and moved his arm and then the legs of the insect was detached == due to this, he wasnt allowed to pull it out. I think he has to go to docs or somethin now.

So one after another, groups presented, my group was 2nd last. Each of us had a section to do and present. I did the adaptations of plant species in the sand dunes and contributed to other parts of the presentation. We had samples as teaching aids and posters we've drawn up!

Then we had our lunch which was yummy pasta and garlic breaaaaaaaaaaad! *yawn hmm..tired..then we went to take down our tents and put them back into their bags. We moved our luggages onto the buses and took group photos! great, i had a splinter in my finger and managed to get it out with friend's tweezers xD
haha phew!

So 3hrs car ride back - i rode teacher's car with her daughter, and two other friends of mine. It was tiring, and was constantly dizzy haha but it was alright.
